CCH: Finding your way around

The Congress Center Hamburg is a complicated and complex building, and finding your way to the translation booths can be a bit intimidating. This page provides some hints.

At 37C3 we are interpreting in three halls: 1, Granville, and Zuse. Use the information below to find your way to the booths.

Hall 1

You can find the booths most easily by starting from the lobby of hall X, just up the escalators and elevators from the main lobby. Then, head down the hallway between hall X and hall 1 (keep heaven on your right). Go through the frosted glass doors into the hallway beyond, about 15m. There will be a door and an elevator on the left-hand side of the hallway. Go through the door and down the stairs; you'll be in the hallway with the four booths, on your left.

You can also take that elevator from other levels. Note that the elevators between hall 1 and halls X/Y/Z have buttons on both sides, and they lead to different floors. Hopefully, buttons will be labeled.

Hall Granville

This is the easiest: when you are standing in the lobby outside of hall Granville, the booths are on the little platform, just between the door into the hall. Simply take the three steps up and go to the booth.

Hall Zuse

These are the most strenuous booths to get to.

You will first need to reach the VOC editing booth at the back of the auditorium. Enter the hall as you would as an audience member, then go up the stairs all the way to the back.

2023-12-23: we're investigating if we can enter the VOC booth from level 4 from the backstage hallway.

Then, you will need to go through the side door on the right (facing the stage), and go up one level of stairs.
